Every Confirmed GTA 6 Location: The Complete State of Leonida Breakdown

Grand Theft Auto VI is set in the State of Leonida — Rockstar's fictionalized modern-day Florida — with Vice City at its center. Rockstar has confirmed six regions.

This page covers only what's been officially confirmed or shown in official material. Where something is community analysis rather than Rockstar's word, we say so. That distinction matters more than usual right now, because the GTA 6 information space is full of confident nonsense.

The six confirmed regions

CONFIRMED by Rockstar:

  1. Vice City
  2. Leonida Keys
  3. Grassrivers
  4. Mount Kalaga
  5. Port Gellhorn
  6. Ambrosia

Vice City

The centerpiece, and by Rockstar's own framing the most detailed city the studio has ever built. Expect the Art Deco beachfront, neon nightlife, a dense downtown skyline, and waterfront luxury developments — the glamour-and-grime contrast that drives the whole Jason-and-Lucia story.

Confirmed sub-locations: Ocean Beach (site of Shore Court Garage, the Vintage Vice City Pack property).

This is where most of your playtime will go and where property will presumably be most expensive.

Leonida Keys

A chain of bridge-connected islands running south of Vice City — Rockstar's Florida Keys.

Story-critical: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos live in the Keys at the start of the game. That makes this the region you'll know first and probably best.

Bridge-connected island chains historically mean chokepoints, water traversal, and boat gameplay. Worth noting for anyone thinking about how movement and pursuit will work here.

Grassrivers

Rockstar's take on the Everglades. Wetlands, airboats, and the kind of low-population wilderness that GTA maps usually reserve for the edges.

Mount Kalaga

Confirmed by name. Details beyond that are thin. Given Florida's actual topography, the name suggests a national-park-style elevated region rather than a genuine mountain.

⚠️ Anything you read describing specific Mount Kalaga activities, missions, or landmarks right now is speculation.

Port Gellhorn

Confirmed by name. A port city implies industrial docks, shipping, and — in GTA terms — the kind of infrastructure that tends to host smuggling and freight-related content.

⚠️ Specifics unconfirmed.

Ambrosia

Confirmed by name. The least-detailed of the six regions in official material to date.

⚠️ Specifics unconfirmed.

What's NOT confirmed (but everyone repeats anyway)

Map size. You'll see "125 km²" and "twice the size of GTA V" cited constantly. That figure comes from community analysis of the trailers, not from Rockstar. It may end up close. It is not official, and no one who repeats it as fact has a source for it.

"No loading screens." Widely repeated, not officially stated in those terms.

Any specific landmark, business, or interior not shown in the two official trailers or official screenshots.

Everything about an online mode. Rockstar has announced no multiplayer component for GTA VI at all. Not a delay, not a date — no announcement that one exists. Analyst projections are projections.

What could change on August 27

Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" premieres on Netflix on August 27 at 3pm ET, and on Rockstar's YouTube channel later the same day.

This is the first substantial new official material since the trailers, and it's the most likely moment between now and launch for new locations to be confirmed. We'll have a full breakdown up within a couple of hours of it going live.

Region quick reference
